my favs:
“do you even know what Laguna Seca is?”
“yeah…it’s this killer beach in florida where everyone’s a hardbody.”
“who cares when she can do this” *shows phone*
“why’s she behind you, dude?”
“dammit!”
“that’s gross…”
“I look at these people and can’t quite believe that they exist. Are they professional actors? I wonder. Or are they simply laymen who want a lot of attention? To put them in perspective, I think of being on an airplane. The flight attendant comes down the aisle with her food cart and, eventually, parks it beside my seat. “Can I interest you in the chicken?” she asks. “Or would you prefer the platter of shit with bits of broken glass in it? To be undecided in this election is to pause for a moment and then ask how the chicken is cooked.”
is it weird that i’m naturally skeptical of conservatives being this rational? to a certain extent, that might just be an internal indicator of the divisive nature of the presidential campaign. i hope there are people out there who look at the big picture and long term when they get into that voting booth. enjoy…
and wouldn’t you know it, two minutes later, i stumble on this little gem.
yes. release yourself of all responsibility and give it up to your imaginary friend who’s going to fix everything in the world and fill your bank account. *thumbs up* never underestimate the power of ignorance and self delusion.
["YOU cannot overestimate," thundered psychiatrist Jeffrey Schwartz, "how threatened the scientific establishment is by the fact that it now looks like the materialist paradigm is genuinely breaking down. You're gonna hear a lot in the next calendar year about... how Darwin's explanation of how human intelligence arose is the only scientific way of doing it... I'm asking us as a world community to go out there and tell the scientific establishment, enough is enough! Materialism needs to start fading away and non-materialist causation needs to be understood as part of natural reality."]
ok. so let me get this straight. what you’re saying is that Darwin is responsible for the development of western capitalism and just because a couple greedy bastards at the top with their own agenda ruined it for pretty much the whole world, somehow that’s supposed to mean that god was right all along? right…
[Schwartz and Beauregard are part of a growing "non-material neuroscience" movement. They are attempting to resurrect Cartesian dualism - the idea that brain and mind are two fundamentally different kinds of things, material and immaterial - in the hope that it will make room in science both for supernatural forces and for a soul. The two have signed the "Scientific dissent from Darwinism" petition, spearheaded by the Seattle-based Discovery Institute, headquarters of the intelligent design movement. ID argues that biological life is too complex to have arisen through evolution.]
this is just my two cents here, but what is science if it runs away from Darwinism exactly? kinda sounds like a car without an engine. gonna get really far that way. *thumbs up* and let me get this straight, you call yourselves scientists and are also part of the “intelligent design” club? *cough*oxymoron*cough*.
i’m not even going to cover the rest because it’s just absurd. what the fuck is wrong with people. OMG THE ECONOMY IS SCARY. RUN TO GOD! uh. no. how bout we sit down, analyze the situation, figure out what went wrong. and fucking fix it. somehow i don’t think that asking your imaginary friend to infuse credit into financial institutions is going to do a whole lot, but you go ahead and do that.
Article - Creationists Declare War Over the Brain
oh yeah. India launched a missile to the moon. dell tech support now relocated to crater on the dark side. still useless.
this clip hearkens back to the time Obama spoke in Berlin and was met by one the largest crowd of his campaign (save for the DNC maybe?). for the first time in a long time not only was an American cheered by foreigners, but the American flags being waved were not on fire, but were held high in admiration of what the individual speaking before the crowd represented. the rest of the world gets it. just wonder when the rest of America will.
and for nostalgia, here’s Obama’s speech in Berlin:
Joe Biden on Ellen
Biden does a good job of supporting the democratic position on equal rights for gay couples and expands on proposed tax policy including benefits for small business.
contrast that to the demeanor and tone from when Ellen had McCain on the show…
i guess it’s ok to to leave your wife who just got into a bad car accident for an heiress that’s eighteen years your junior, but it’s completely immoral and unconscionable for gay couples to be as miserable as straight couples in the ever so holy state of matrimony.
tip of the hat to Daniel Zubairi for putting yet another ignorant idiot in his place. it’s nice to see that there are at least some people at McCain events that won’t stand for blatant racism and false statements.
we need more people like this in power to look inside themselves and find the truth we all know instead of the divisive rhetoric that’s been spewed from the mouth of hatred of those who want to preserve the status quo as directed by ignorance and closed mindedness.
